In a recent Instagram post, rapper 50 Cent publicly criticized his eldest son, Marquise Jackson, after the 25-year-old offered to pay him $6,700 for a day of his time.
Marquise had taken to social media to express his dissatisfaction with the monthly child support payment of $6,700 that his mother receives from the rapper.
Marquise's post read, “Since y'all think $6,700 is sooo much money, someone tell my pops I will pay him $6,700 for just 24 hours of his time so we can do everything I ever wanted to do with him as a kid.
Red Yellow Green, whatever color he likes.”
Alongside this statement, he shared an image featuring the word “Entitled” spelled out using paper currency, mimicking 50 Cent's previous photo where he spelled out “Broke” with hundred dollar bills.
In response to Marquise's offer, 50 Cent took to his own Instagram and shared a clip from his show Power, where he is seen in character as Kanan Stark shooting the drug dealer's son, Shawn, in cold blood.
The caption simply stated, “No caption needed.”
This public feud stems from Marquise's belief that the $6,700 monthly child support payment is insufficient, especially considering the cost of living in New York City and compared to his father's earnings as a rapper and mogul.
During an Instagram Live chat with Choke No Joke earlier this month, Marquise expressed his frustrations, saying, “You're talking about a Forbes lister – you're talking about someone that has problems with everybody – you can't just live in any neighborhood, $81K is not a substantial amount of money.
You can't just live anywhere.”
He further challenged Choke by asking if he could start his life over with only $6,700 a month, to which Choke responded affirmatively.
Marquise then emphasized that the comparison should not be made based on Choke's lifestyle but rather on his own experiences of rebuilding his life with that amount.
In a 2020 Instagram Live interview with Van Lathan, 50 Cent discussed his estranged relationship with Marquise.
He expressed his disappointment, stating, “I didn't think that success would cost me my first-born, but it's the situation it is.
My grandfather used to say, ‘If it rattles like a snake and slithers like a snake, is it a snake or do you need to be bit?'
What he keeps saying is, every time you see the boy he shows up with somebody you have a problem with.
What does that tell you?”
The public exchange between 50 Cent and Marquise highlights the strained relationship between father and son, with financial disagreements further exacerbating their differences.
