Russell Brand Faces Backlash for Controversial Statements in Past Interview

In an interview that has since been removed from the internet, Russell Brand made troubling remarks, including joking about raping a woman.

The actor, known for his role in “Get Him to the Greek,” appeared on Richard Herring's podcast in 2013, where he referred to himself as a “s=x narcissist” and boasted about being a “comprehensive show-off.”

During the podcast, Brand shockingly claimed, “Oh, I've raped someone once,” followed by a disturbing comment implying violence.

Furthermore, he made light of the ancient Greeks engaging in s–ual activities with children while discussing mathematics, showing a lack of sensitivity and understanding.

The controversial podcast episode, where Brand also joked about inappropriate interactions, was subsequently taken down from public platforms after a report by the Sunday Times surfaced, accusing the comedian, now 48, of s–ual misconduct against multiple women spanning from 2006 to 2013.

Despite the serious allegations leveled against him, Brand vehemently denied the claims even before the report was published, emphasizing that his past relationships were consensual, although he admitted to being promiscuous during his time in the entertainment industry.

Amidst the uproar, one of the accusers detailed an incident where Brand allegedly assaulted her against a wall, leading her to seek medical help the following day.

Another victim described being in an emotionally manipulative relationship with the comedian when she was just 16 years old and he was 31.

While Brand's ex-wife, Katy Perry, has not publicly addressed the recent accusations against him, she cryptically hinted at discovering “the real truth” post their divorce in 2012, indicating a sense of closure and moving forward from the situation.

Brand, who is currently married to blogger Laura Gallacher and is a father to two daughters, expressed remorse over his past behavior and the repercussions of his candid nature being misconstrued as criminal conduct, suggesting a broader agenda aimed at controlling certain narratives and voices.
