Rosamund Pike recently revealed a surprising demand made during her audition for the movie “Die Another Day.”
She shared that she was asked to undress to her underwear as part of the audition process for the role, which she eventually landed.
Despite the pressure, Pike stood her ground.
She expressed, “On the day, I don't know how I got the resolve and strength of mind, but I just thought, ‘Actually sod that, if they're gonna see me in my underwear, they better give me the job.'”
Determined not to compromise her dignity, Pike made a bold choice.
She decided to wear her grandmother's elegant silk gown to the audition, even though it differed from the typical attire expected for a Bond film.
The costume designer's reaction indicated that her outfit was not in line with the usual style seen in such films.
Feeling somewhat out of place in this new environment, Pike reflected, “I realized I was in a completely different world and way out of my depth.” Despite the pressure to conform, she opted not to yield and maintained her stance.
Pike further explained that she eventually wore a more fitting ensemble for the occasion, ensuring that she did not have to compromise her values during the audition process.
Her steadfastness paid off as she secured the role of Miranda Frost in the 2002 film “Die Another Day.”
Reflecting on her overall experience on set, Pike expressed that she felt comfortable working alongside industry stars such as Pierce Brosnan, Halle Berry, and Toby Stephens,
