Joy Behar recently stirred up a long-buried secret involving Barbara Walters during a visit to her former colleague Sherri Shepherd's show.
During the chat, Shepherd recounted an incident where the late comedian Paul Mooney claimed to have caught Walters in a compromising position with Richard Pryor.
She then shared this revelation with Behar, leading to a confrontation with Walters.
In a candid moment, Shepherd disclosed, “I confided in Joy about running into Paul Mooney, who alleged he had witnessed Barbara Walters with Richard Pryor!”
Behar, taken aback, humorously prodded, “Are you saying she was romantically involved with Richard Pryor?”
Shepherd affirmed, adding a cautionary note, “I shared this in confidence, so keep it hush-hush!”
Shepherd further narrated, “I informed Joy about Paul Mooney's claim of catching Barbara and Richard together; I emphasized the need for secrecy.”
Subsequently, Joy probed Walters about the alleged affair, to which Walters neither confirmed nor refuted the speculations.
Behar later acknowledged Walters' rumored preference for Black men, hinting, “Confidentially, Barbara had a penchant for Black gentlemen; she even dated a Black senator at one point.”
