Jon Cryer, famously known for his role in Two And A Half Men, recently shared an intriguing anecdote about how his co-star, Charlie Sheen, assisted him during a tough period post his divorce.
In his new memoir titled “So That Happened,” Cryer delves into the details of his dynamic relationship with Sheen, shedding light on a rather unconventional suggestion made by the latter.
The Hollywood Reporter provided a sneak peek into Cryer's revelations.
Following the end of his five-year marriage to Sarah Trigger, Cryer found himself in a vulnerable state, describing it as being an “emotional basket case.”
It was during this challenging time that Sheen extended a helping hand, proposing the idea of hiring a prostitute as a means to lift Cryer's spirits.
Reflecting on this unexpected advice, Cryer disclosed, “I was in a bad state right after my divorce, and I certainly didn't feel dateable … Charlie suggested a few online purveyors he used, as this was when prostitution was gaining a foothold on the internet.”
Delving deeper into Sheen's perspective on the matter, Cryer shared, “We talked about prostitutes.
He'd said publicly that you don't pay prostitutes to come to your house; you pay them to leave.
He'd thought this through, obviously.”
This candid revelation offers a glimpse into the unique bond shared between the two actors, showcasing Sheen's unorthodox yet seemingly well-intentioned approach to supporting his friend.
Recounting his foray into the realm of hiring a prostitute based on Sheen's recommendation, Cryer humorously described the experience as “awkward.”
He narrated an encounter with a woman of interest, highlighting the humorous yet peculiar nature of their interactions.
From engaging in financial discussions to navigating through uncomfortable small talk, Cryer's escapades in this uncharted territory were both amusing and enlightening.
In a whimsical narrative, Cryer reminisced, “If Charlie's example of his evening's entertainment was best exemplified by a snapshot of lady parts, mine would be a picture of me hunched over a table of papers and telling a hot lady, ‘The real estate boom is building, you need to diversify'.”
This juxtaposition of scenarios paints a vivid picture of the contrasting experiences encountered by the two friends in their respective pursuits.
Sheen's tumultuous departure from Two and a Half Men in 2011 marked a significant turning point in the series, with his character meeting a dramatic end due to off-screen controversies.
As Sheen bid adieu to the show, Ashton Kutcher stepped into the spotlight, seamlessly transitioning into the ensemble cast.
