Singer-actress Courtney Love found herself in handcuffs in New York early Thursday morning following an incident at a nightclub where she hurled a microphone stand into the audience, striking a man in the head, according to authorities.
This arrest came hot on the heels of Love's attention-grabbing act on the CBS “Late Show with David Letterman.”
Before her run-in with the law, the 39-year-old, known for her provocative and erratic behavior, shocked viewers by revealing her bre-sts on national television.
In a bold move, Love leaped onto Letterman's desk, lifted her shirt, and exposed herself sans a bra.
A spokesperson for the police disclosed that Love faces charges of assault and reckless endangerment following the altercation at an East Village nightclub around 2:30 a.m.
The individual struck by the microphone stand, a 24-year-old man, sustained injuries to his head, though his identity remains undisclosed pending further investigation.
Earlier in the week, Love, the former lead singer of the disbanded rock group Hole, appeared in a Beverly Hills courtroom for a hearing regarding drug-related charges.
Despite causing disruptions during the proceedings, the judge rescheduled the hearing, cautioning Love to maintain decorum in the courtroom.
This incident marks the fourth occasion a Beverly Hills judge has postponed the felony case linked to Love's hospital visit on October 2 due to what law enforcement termed as “a medical emergency.”
Love has maintained her innocence concerning the illegal possession of prescription painkillers, pleading not guilty to the allegations.
