Courtney Love marked St. Patrick's Day with a memorable performance that involved flashing David Letterman during a rendition of ”Danny Boy” on his ”Late Show” and later getting into trouble at a Manhattan nightclub called Plaid.
Shortly after her daring act on national television, Love took the stage at Plaid where she reportedly tossed a microphone stand into the crowd, accidentally hitting a 24-year-old man in the head, resulting in her arrest on charges of reckless endangerment as reported by CNN.
According to a Plaid spokeswoman, the incident involving the microphone stand was intended as part of Love's performance.
The spokeswoman mentioned that Love was unaware of causing harm and expressed remorse upon learning about the injury inflicted on the patron.
Despite this, Love maintained that she did not believe she had committed a criminal offense.
Following the altercation, New York police Sgt.
John Grimpel confirmed that the injured individual was promptly taken to Cabrini Hospital for treatment of minor head wounds.
Describing the scene, the club spokeswoman noted the severity of the injuries sustained by the victim, stating that it was a bloody affair.
Love's late-night show at the nightclub occurred after her appearance on the ”Late Show,” where she paid homage to her friend Drew Barrymore by mimicking Barrymore's infamous 1995 guest appearance.
