In a shocking turn of events, Megan Fox, who rose to fame after starring in two Transformers films, was unexpectedly fired from the franchise.
The reason behind her dismissal was comments she made comparing director Michael Bay to Adolf Hitler.
It was Steven Spielberg, the executive producer of Transformers, who made the decision to let her go.
The controversy began in 2009 when Fox expressed her dissatisfaction working with Bay in an interview with Wonderland magazine.
She described him as “a nightmare to work with,” likening his behavior on set to that of Napoleon and Hitler.
Despite her criticisms, she also found his off-set personality endearing due to his social awkwardness.
Bay, however, claimed to have moved on from the incident and was not hurt by Fox's remarks.
He understood that getting a reaction out of people was something she enjoyed, but believed she went about it the wrong way.
He expressed his apologies for making her work long hours and for expecting punctuality, stating that the movie-making process is not always pleasant.
Contrary to popular belief, Fox's representatives insisted that she was not fired but rather made the decision not to return for future Transformers movies.
Her role was subsequently filled by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in the third installment.
According to her representative, Fox wished the franchise all the best.
Shia LaBeouf, Fox's co-star in the Transformers movies, defended Bay against her criticisms.
He believed that Fox became uncomfortable with the way Bay portrayed women in his films, which catered to a youthful audience.
LaBeouf explained that Fox struggled with accepting her sudden rise to fame and the sexualized nature of her character.
He also mentioned that Bay lacked tact when giving specific instructions on set.
In response to the controversy, Bay expressed his belief that Fox was ungrateful for the opportunities she had been given.
He considered her comments to be ridiculous, attributing them to her young age and lack of life experience.
Bay took credit for discovering Fox and introducing her to the world through Transformers, claiming to have played a role in building her career.
The Transformers franchise eventually underwent two reboots, with Bay directing five films before passing the baton to Travis Knight for the prequel film Bumblebee.
Despite the tumultuous events surrounding Megan Fox's departure, the series continued to captivate audiences worldwide.
