In a recent sighting on the set of their latest movie, Robert De Niro was seen wearing massive platform shoes to appear taller than his co-star Al Pacino.
The 74-year-old actor, who stands at a modest 5ft 8in, relied on specially designed footwear to surpass the 5ft 7in height of Pacino.
The Hollywood legends were captured walking through the Bronx while filming the upcoming mob drama “The Irishman,” directed by Martin Scorcese.
This will be the fifth collaboration between De Niro and Pacino, who have previously shared the screen in iconic films such as “The Godfather: Part II” and “Heat.”
Based on Charles Brand's book “I Heard You Paint Houses,” the film delves into the life of Frank ‘The Irishman' Sheeran, a former mob hitman.
Sheeran was allegedly involved in the disappearance of notorious mob boss Jimmy Hoffa in 1975.
In “The Irishman,” De Niro portrays an older Sheeran reflecting on his career in the mob.
Earlier snapshots from the film showed De Niro in action, reenacting the infamous assassination of mobster Joe Gallo in the 1970s.
Director Scorcese has stated that “The Irishman” will have a distinct feel compared to his previous mob films like “Casino” and “Raging Bull.”
He described it as a retrospective look at a man's life and the choices he has made, with a focus on the aging characters.
Joining De Niro and Pacino in the star-studded cast are Joe Pesci, Jesse Plemons, Bobby Cannavale, and Anna Paquin.
The anticipation for this highly anticipated film continues to grow as fans eagerly await its release.
