Prince Harry, visibly distraught, made a solemn return to Windsor following the heartbreaking loss of his beloved grandmother, the Queen.
The grieving Prince was captured in recent photos arriving at the Queen's Palace in Windsor, his expression heavy with sorrow as he shielded his face with a hand.
After hastily journeying to Balmoral on Thursday evening to stand alongside fellow royals in their time of mourning, Prince Harry made the difficult decision to cancel his attendance at a charity awards event in London.
Early this morning, before 8:15, the Prince was seen leaving Scotland's Balmoral Castle, passing by floral tributes left in memory of the late Queen.
Subsequently, at Aberdeen International Airport, Prince Harry boarded a British Airways flight, donning a somber black suit and carrying a shoulder bag.
Accompanied by a woman in a high-visibility vest, he was observed exchanging words with her, even placing a comforting hand on her shoulder at one point.
As the Sussexes were concluding a brief tour of Europe when news of the Queen's passing reached them, they have decided to remain in the UK to participate in the Queen's State Burial scheduled for September 19.
Their temporary residence is expected to be at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, where they paid tribute to Her Majesty on their Archwell website, now respectfully shrouded in black.
With the Queen's passing, Prince Charles assumes the role of King and Head of the Firm, while Prince William, Harry's brother, is elevated to the crucial position of heir presumptive.
Despite efforts by Harry and Meghan to foster a connection with the Queen, tensions with Charles and William have persisted, as highlighted in Meghan's recent candid interview with The Cut.
In the wake of their explosive conversation with Oprah Winfrey last year, where the Sussexes criticized the royal family as discriminatory and uncaring, the Queen pledged to address their concerns internally.
Meghan disclosed struggles with mental health during her time as a working royal, revealing that the institution failed to provide adequate support.
Following the Queen's funeral, King Charles III extends the period of royal mourning by an additional seven days.
This period will be observed by members of the royal family, royal household staff, and troops engaged in ceremonial duties, culminating in a royal gun salute to honor the Queen's 96 years of life.
Although past conflicts may linger, the royal family is expected to set aside differences as they unite in mourning the loss of their matriarch and sovereign.
Together, they will focus on honoring the Queen's legacy and navigating the transition under the new reign of King Charles III.
