Joachim and Marie, members of the Danish royal family, are gearing up to depart from France.
In a recent revelation, Prince Joachim of Denmark disclosed to the Danish publication Bild Bladet on November 9, 2022, that he plans to conclude his tenure as a defense attaché at the Danish Embassy in Paris next summer.
While refraining from pinpointing their future residence, the prince, accompanied by his wife, Marie, and their two youngest children, Henrik and Athena, deliberated on their forthcoming endeavors during the Space Innovation event in Toulouse, orchestrated by the Danish Embassy in France.
Expressing his proficiency in the French language, Prince Joachim articulated the significance of his linguistic abilities in navigating his responsibilities as a defense attaché.
Acknowledging the nuances and intricacies of the language, he emphasized the pivotal role of effective communication in his professional pursuits.
“Being able to communicate not only verbally but also to align my mindset with the French language has facilitated my engagement in the defense realm,” shared Prince Joachim during an interview with Bladet on November 9, 2022.
However, he delineated that his current role will culminate with the arrival of summer.
Delving into his aspirations for fostering bilateral relations between Denmark and France in the defense sector, Prince Joachim expressed his enthusiasm for the ongoing industrial collaboration between the two nations.
Emphasizing his commitment to advancing this collaborative trajectory, he affirmed his dedication to championing this initiative throughout his tenure.
“I am pleased to play a part in catalyzing a closer alliance between Denmark and France in the defense domain, a venture that has gained significant momentum,” articulated Prince Joachim in an interview with BuildBladet.
When probed about the prospect of returning to Denmark, the prince remained evasive, stating that the future holds uncertainties.
The recent declaration by Queen Margaret II in late September, announcing the renunciation of princely titles by Joachim's four sons effective January 1, 2023, triggered discord within the royal household.
Acknowledging the emotional turmoil experienced by her youngest son and his inner circle, the Queen conceded underestimating the gravity of the situation.
The familial tensions ensuing from this decision have underscored the complexities within the Danish royal family.
As Joachim and Marie embark on the transition from France, their impending relocation marks a significant juncture in their familial and professional trajectory.
