In what is quickly becoming one of the most contentious divorces in Hollywood history, Dennis Hopper’s wife has been accused of attempting to kill him.
The shocking allegation emerged in a recent court filing by Hopper’s assistant, Emily Davis, as part of the ongoing legal dispute between the actor and his estranged wife, Victoria.
According to the documents, filed in a Los Angeles court and obtained by TMZ.com, Davis claims that Victoria posed a threat to everyone in the household, including Hopper himself.
While she did not specify the method, Davis alleged that Victoria was trying to kill the 73-year-old actor.
The filing also accuses Victoria of cruelty towards Hopper and others in the home, particularly during his hospitalization for prostate cancer treatment in December.
Davis further claims that Victoria has already taken millions of dollars worth of property that does not belong to her, as she fights to secure her stake in Hopper’s inheritance.
Adding to the mounting allegations against Victoria is Marin Hopper, Dennis’ daughter from a previous marriage.
Marin, who is actually older than her stepmother, described Victoria’s behavior as “frightening” and accused her of spreading slanderous lies to the media.
As of now, there has been no response from Victoria’s side.
Hopper and Victoria Duffy, 41, have been married for nearly 14 years and have a seven-year-old daughter, Galen.
The Easy Rider star is reportedly seeking to prevent Victoria from contesting his will, which allegedly leaves her with only a quarter of his estate.
Victoria is said to be furious after discovering that her inheritance matches the terms of their prenuptial agreement, despite the duration of their marriage.
