In a shocking turn of events, Angelina Jolie has officially filed for divorce from Brad Pitt after discovering his infidelity with his co-star, Marion Cotillard.
According to a trusted source, Jolie hired a private investigator to look into her suspicions, and unfortunately, her fears were confirmed.
This revelation was the final straw for Jolie, leading to her decision to end their relationship.
For months, rumors had been circulating about Pitt's close relationship with Cotillard during the filming of their movie “Allied.”
The private investigator discovered that Pitt was indeed cheating on Jolie with Cotillard, while also engaging in a reckless lifestyle filled with drugs and encounters with prostitutes.
The insider revealed, “The atmosphere off-set was full of hard drugs and Russian hookers, and Angie was told Brad got caught up in it.
He's going through some sort of midlife crisis, and Angie has had enough.”
However, a source close to Cotillard denied these affair rumors, stating that she is still in a committed relationship with her long-term partner, French actor and director Guillaume Canet.
They have been together since 2007 and have a child together, although they have never married.
The source could not confirm reports that Cotillard is pregnant with her second child.
Jolie's manager, Geyer Kosinski, issued a statement saying, “Angelina will always prioritize the well-being of her children.
She appreciates everyone's understanding of their need for privacy during this time.”
Pitt also expressed his sadness over the situation and requested that the press give their children the space they deserve.
Apart from the alleged affair, sources say that Jolie was exhausted from constant disagreements over their lifestyle choices.
While she desired to focus on her humanitarian work and travel the world, Pitt preferred the Hollywood scene and its parties.
Jolie recently spoke at the United Nations, urging them to assist Syrian refugees.
The couple's differing priorities and interests have created a significant divide in their relationship.
Another factor contributing to the tension is Pitt's closer relationship with Jolie's father, Jon Voight.
The source reveals, “Jon's a Hollywood guy, and she's been estranged.
Brad hangs out with her father more than she does.”
TMZ also reported that Jolie believes Pitt's drinking, marijuana use, and anger issues are negatively impacting their children.
This, coupled with the affair, led Jolie to finally call it quits.
Jolie filed for divorce on Monday, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
She is seeking physical custody of their children, while allowing Pitt joint legal custody and visitation rights.
Surprisingly, she is not asking for spousal support.
Rumors have also been swirling about the sale of their French chateau, Miraval, where the couple tied the knot in 2014.
Locals claim that the property has been quietly on the market for several months, with the reason being the impending breakup.
Jolie has enlisted top lawyer Laura Wasser to handle her case.
The court documents state that their official separation date is September 15, 2016.
The couple had been together since 2004 and share six children.
