Charlie Sheen has revealed that he kept his HIV status secret from some of his s–ual partners due to concerns about potential blackmail.
Despite acknowledging his lack of transparency with certain partners, the 50-year-old actor, known for his role in Two And A Half Men, maintained that he had not transmitted HIV to any partners since being diagnosed approximately four years ago.
In a public disclosure on the Today Show last November, Sheen claimed to have informed all his previous s–ual partners about his HIV positive status.
However, during an interview with Mail Online's Piers Morgan at London's Theatre Royal Drury Lane, Sheen confessed that he had not always been forthcoming about his s–ually transmitted disease.
Explaining his rationale, Sheen stated, “The only couple of times I didn't tell somebody was because the last 25 times I'd told somebody, they used it against me, and they used my medical condition for their own folly and financial gain.” He expressed disappointment in individuals whom he believed were allies but ended up exploiting his situation for personal benefit.
When questioned about engaging in unprotected s=x while aware of his HIV status, Sheen responded, “No, but I never did.” He emphasized his commitment to safeguarding others by asserting, “On all five of my children, and my granddaughter, I never did.
Because I wouldn't do that to somebody.
I would not.
How could I explain it later?”
Asserting that no one contracted the virus from him, Sheen highlighted his conscious efforts to prevent transmission.
Despite his public image, Sheen disclosed that he had only engaged in s–ual activity once in the past seven months, prioritizing family time and personal well-being over intimate relationships.
Following his public announcement of being HIV positive, Sheen's former partners, including ex-fiancee Brett Rossi and ex-girlfriend Bree Olson, alleged that he had not disclosed his STD status to them.
In California, failing to disclose HIV/AIDS status to a s–ual partner or engaging in unprotected intercourse while aware of one's infection is considered a felony, punishable by up to eight years in prison.
Requests for comments from Sheen's representative remained unanswered at the time of reporting.
The actor's revelation sheds light on the complexities surrounding HIV disclosure and the legal implications of withholding such critical information from intimate partners.
