In a surprising turn of events, Eddie Murphy was stopped by sheriff's deputies in the early hours of Friday for having a transsexual prostitute in his car.
The actor's spokesperson defended Murphy's actions, claiming he was simply helping out a person in need by giving them a ride.
The incident took place in West Hollywood, California, when Murphy's Land Cruiser was pulled over at 4:45 a.m.
Following an observation of a “known transsexual prostitute” entering the vehicle, deputies acted swiftly.
Although no illegal activities were discovered, Atisone Seuli, aged 20, was arrested due to an outstanding warrant related to prostitution.
Represented by an attorney in Hollywood Municipal Court, Seuli was sentenced to 90 days in a Los Angeles County jail for violating probation terms.
Murphy, renowned for his roles in “Beverly Hills Cop” and “The Nutty Professor,” was not subjected to any charges or arrest.
According to his spokesperson, Murphy had difficulty sleeping that night and decided to take a drive to a newsstand.
It was during this outing that he encountered the individual in need of assistance.
Expressing his innocence, Murphy stated, “I did nothing wrong.
I was trying to be a good Samaritan and this is what happens.”
Currently residing in Los Angeles for the filming of “Dr. Doolittle,” Murphy is accompanied by his wife and children during this time.
