Casting director Joel Thurm disclosed his purported intimate encounters with renowned Hollywood personalities in a forthcoming memoir, shedding light on his steamy rendezvous with Rock Hudson and Robert Reed.
Thurm recounted a bustling industry gathering in the 1970s where he serendipitously met one of his childhood idols, Hudson, at a screening of the adult film Boys in the Sand.
These revelations surface amidst longstanding speculations that Dean harbored feelings for Brando, engaging in a covert affair akin to a provocative game, as depicted in a book co-authored by Darwin Porter and Danforth Prince.
In his memoir, Thurm narrated how Hudson discreetly signalled him to join him in a bedroom, a proposition he hesitatingly accepted.
However, overwhelmed by awe, he confessed to being unable to perform when the moment of intimacy arrived.
Now aged 80, Thurm candidly discussed his discomfiture at the situation, noting his usual adeptness in such matters.
Despite suggestions to proceed differently, he expressed his inhibition due to Hudson's stature.
Remarkably, Hudson seemed unperturbed, having encountered similar situations previously.
Thurm recounted a more harmonious encounter with Reed, renowned for his role as Mike Brady in The Brady Bunch.
While working on the 1976 movie The Boy in the Plastic Bubble featuring John Travolta, Thurm found himself on set with Reed.
Expressing his gratitude for Reed's cooperation amidst challenges on set, Thurm shared an innocent gesture that unexpectedly garnered a positive response from Reed.
However, Reed reverted to his previous demeanor thereafter, showcasing a change in behavior post their interaction.
Hudson succumbed to AIDS in 1985, while Reed passed away from the same illness in 1992.
Past rumors resurfaced in 2016 with excerpts from the book James Dean: Tomorrow Never Comes, fueling sensational claims about the alleged escapades between the two luminaries.
Allegedly, Dean and Brando engaged in unconventional power dynamics during their encounters, with Dean seeking peculiar forms of intimacy, indicative of an imbalanced affection between them, according to the contentious book.
Contrary to these assertions, Brando refuted any existence of such a relationship in his memoir, dispelling the sensationalized narratives surrounding their alleged affair.
