Veteran Hollywood actor Burt Reynolds recently expressed his lack of sympathy for Charlie Sheen, asserting that Sheen “deserves” the HIV diagnosis he disclosed three years ago.
Reynolds made these remarks during an appearance on the popular ITV show, Loose Women, where he criticized Sheen's handling of the situation.
Known for his role in Deliverance, Reynolds emphasized his relationship with Sheen's father, describing him as a “very decent man and a close friend.”
Sheen went public with his HIV status in a live television interview in the United States, revealing that he had been living with the virus for three years.
Reynolds, however, did not mince words when discussing Sheen's behavior, stating, “I feel bad for him but Charlie, I don't feel bad for him.
He's getting what he deserves.
If you're going to misbehave like that, they're going to get you.”
The controversy surrounding Sheen further escalated as reports emerged of him facing legal action from an ex-girlfriend who alleges that she engaged in s–ual relations with him five times before he disclosed his HIV-positive status.
Reynolds maintained his stance, expressing no sympathy towards Sheen, citing his inappropriate conduct.
Despite acknowledging the challenges of fame and youth, Reynolds reiterated his belief that Sheen's actions warranted consequences.
In a personal anecdote shared by Reynolds, he recounted a time in the 1980s when he was falsely rumored to have contracted HIV, which negatively impacted his acting career.
Reflecting on missed opportunities, Reynolds revealed that he declined the iconic role of James Bond, attributing his decision to a lack of confidence in his suitability for the part.
Drawing a comparison to legendary actor Sean Connery, Reynolds admitted his error
