Carrie Fisher’s Regret Over Disclosing Harrison Ford Affair

In the months leading up to her tragic death in December 2016, Carrie Fisher proudly shared details of her short-lived romance with fellow “Star Wars” actor Harrison Ford.

According to Todd Fisher's new book, titled “My Girls: A Lifetime with Carrie and Debbie,” Carrie deeply regretted publicly revealing the three-month relationship she had with Ford, which she candidly documented in her 2016 autobiography, “The Princess Diarist.”

In the book, as reported by the Daily Mail, Todd, who is 60 years old, disclosed that their mother, Debbie Reynolds, was unaware of Carrie's involvement with Ford when she was a 19-year-old single woman, while Ford was a 33-year-old married father of two.

Todd shared that Reynolds vehemently disapproved of both the affair and Carrie's decision to make it known to the public, which eventually led Carrie to acknowledge to Reynolds, “You were right.

I should not have shared that story.”

Just before the release of “The Princess Diarist,” Carrie confessed to People magazine that the relationship was intense, with their dynamic shifting between Han and Leia on set during the week, and Carrie and Harrison privately over the weekends.

Reflecting on that period, Carrie expressed feeling inexperienced and described herself as a “poor kisser,” noting that Ford, now 75, also did not excel in bed.

She revealed that many of their encounters were spurred by alcohol and recreational substances.

While Ford never directly addressed Carrie's revelations, he mentioned being forewarned to some extent about the scandalous content in Carrie's memoir.

Hearing about the affair more than three decades later left him with a sense of unease.

Ford later paid tribute to Carrie during the Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony for their “Star Wars” co-star, Mark Hamill.

Carrie tragically passed away in December 2016 due to cardiac arrest, with Reynolds following a day later.

Todd clarified that the prevalent belief surrounding Reynolds' death – that she succumbed to a broken heart after losing Carrie – was inaccurate.
