Actress Natalie Portman has finally addressed the swirling rumors regarding her potential split from husband Benjamin Millepied, amid allegations of his involvement in an extramarital affair.
The 42-year-old star, known for her role in “May December,” recently participated in an interview featured in Vanity Fair's 2024 Hollywood Issue released on February 21, where she was questioned about the ongoing speculations surrounding the status of her marriage.
Expressing her dismay on the matter, Natalie firmly stated, “It's distressing, and I have no inclination to feed into it.”
Acknowledging the sensitive nature of the topic, the interviewer empathized with Natalie, prompting her to respond, “I can understand your reluctance to broach this subject.”
Despite choosing not to delve into specifics concerning her marital life, Natalie shed light on how she navigates her time between Paris and Los Angeles, where she currently resides with her two children shared with Benjamin, aged 46.
Describing her affinity for both cities, she remarked, “I perceive them as complementary urban environments.
I derive immense satisfaction from having a presence in both places.”
She went on to elaborate on her lifestyle in LA, emphasizing her preference for a non-Hollywood existence.
“My routine in LA is far from the stereotypical Hollywood scene.
Residing on the east side, I maintain a circle of friends comprising individuals outside the entertainment sector.
Our gatherings revolve around intimate home-cooked meals rather than glamorous industry events.
This shift has significantly altered my perception of LA.”
Reflecting on her past visits to LA primarily for work engagements, Natalie contrasted it with her current residential experience, which has broadened her perspective on the city's diverse offerings encompassing nature, arts, cuisine, music, and community bonds.
Natalie and Benjamin, who crossed paths during the filming of “The Black Swan” and are parents to Aleph, 12, and Amalia, 6, appear to have taken separate paths following reports in June 2023 alleging Benjamin's involvement with a 25-year-old environmental activist.
Sources revealed that the alleged affair was brief and had concluded by last summer.
Despite efforts from Benjamin to reconcile and salvage their relationship post the reported transgression, Natalie, known for her guarded privacy, prioritizes shielding her children from public scrutiny.
In candid moments captured on June 10, Natalie was seen visibly emotional alongside Benjamin on a park bench, hinting at underlying tensions.
Subsequently, in August, she was spotted in Australia without her wedding ring, further fueling speculations about the status of their union.
