Dax Shepard has come forward to address claims that he cheated on his wife, Kristen Bell, during the early stages of their relationship.
The 43-year-old actor took to Instagram to refute accusations made by Julie Andrews' step-granddaughter, Kayti Edwards, who alleged that she and Shepard were romantically involved back in 2009.
Bell and Shepard had started dating in 2007 and later got married in 2013.
In a statement posted on Instagram, Shepard clarified that the photo circulating was actually taken 13 years ago, not 9 as claimed.
He pointed out that the images of him kissing Edwards in a photo booth were from 2005, not 2009 as mentioned by Edwards.
Additionally, Shepard humorously mentioned Edwards' history of selling stories about other celebrities like Matthew Perry, Jack Osbourne, and Kid Rock, expressing anticipation for her next tale, even suggesting it might involve Brad Pitt.
Despite the allegations, Edwards did not immediately respond to requests for comments on the matter.
She shared details of her past interactions with Shepard, stating that they had been on a few dates and had occasional intimate moments before parting ways when she moved to Hawaii.
However, in 2009, she claimed to have crossed paths with Shepard at a party in L.A., leading to another intimate encounter that night.
Edwards explained that she decided to speak up preemptively after posting a photo on Facebook, which drew attention from the media.
She expressed her desire to distance herself from the situation, wishing Shepard and Bell happiness and stability, especially for the sake of their children.
Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell have been married since 2013 and are parents to two daughters, Lincoln, 5, and Delta, who will soon turn 4.
Bell recently shared her perspective on trust and jealousy issues in their relationship, acknowledging that Shepard's consistent love and behavior have helped her overcome these feelings over time.
She also noted that Shepard's sense of humor has only improved throughout their years together.
