Jennifer Garner Opens Up About Ben Affleck’s Affair with Nanny

In the mid-2000s, Ben Affleck's pristine image took a hit as he found himself embroiled in a series of controversies.

Among them was his involvement in a scandalous affair with the children's nanny, a fact confirmed by his estranged wife, Jennifer Garner.

Garner revealed that she and Affleck had already been living separately for several months when the news broke about his relationship with Christine Ouzounian, the nanny hired to care for their three children – Violet, Seraphina, and Sam.

Our marriage had already crumbled before I learned about the nanny.

She played no role in our choice to divorce.

She was not a factor in the equation.”

Furthermore, Garner acknowledged the repercussions of the nanny scandal on their children, acknowledging the importance of discussing such matters with them.

She expressed, “Was it a mistake?

Absolutely.

It's unsettling for your kids to have [a nanny] vanish from their lives.

I've had to explain [to my children] what scandal means.” The couple officially announced their separation in 2015, shortly before their tenth wedding anniversary.

Opening up about her emotions, Jennifer Garner confessed that Ben Affleck was the “love of her life,” and coping with the public scrutiny surrounding their split and the ‘Nannygate' controversy was challenging.

Recalling a moment when she saw their story on CNN, she shared, “I switched off the TV that day.

I refuse to engage with it anymore.

Last summer, I made a personal pledge to disconnect from it all.

I am completely unaware of the current situation.”

She continued by emphasizing her stance on prioritizing their children amidst the divorce proceedings, disregarding external perceptions.

Garner mentioned an exchange with Affleck, stating, “Ben tells me, ‘You're just indifferent,' but I say, ‘No, it's the opposite.' It pains me deeply, and I am deeply concerned.

I choose not to focus on how the divorce appears to outsiders.

I will not allow anger or pain to steer me.

My decisions are guided by the bigger picture, with the welfare of our kids as the top priority,” she affirmed.
