Mischa Barton, a well-known 21-year-old actress famous for her role in Fox’s “The O.C.,” was taken into custody in West Hollywood on Thursday morning.
This came after sheriff’s deputies observed her vehicle straddling two lanes while driving and suspected her of being under the influence of alcohol and carrying marijuana.
The incident occurred around 2:45 a.m. when Barton was spotted driving along La Cienega Boulevard without signaling for a turn, law enforcement officials disclosed.
According to a press release from the sheriff’s office, it was ascertained during Barton’s detention that she did not possess a valid driver’s license and was operating the vehicle while intoxicated.

John Hocking stated that Barton was apprehended on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without a valid license, having a controlled substance in her possession, and being in possession of marijuana.
Following her arrest, Barton was held in the West Hollywood jail for approximately seven hours before being released after posting a $10,000 bail.
A court appearance has been set for February 28.
Efforts to reach Barton’s manager and publicist for comment were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.
