Macaulay Culkin Arrested for Drug Possession

Renowned actor Macaulay Culkin, famously known for his role in the classic movie “Home Alone,” faced charges on Friday in Oklahoma City related to marijuana possession and having a controlled substance without a prescription, according to authorities.

The incident unfolded when Culkin, aged 24, was traveling as a passenger in a Pontiac Bonneville that was pulled over on Interstate 44 around 4 p.m.

Following a routine speeding stop, law enforcement discovered the illicit substances during a vehicle search, leading to Culkin's arrest.

He was subsequently released from custody upon posting a $4,000 bond, as reported by police officials.

During the search, authorities confiscated 17.3 grams of marijuana, eight Xanax tablets, and 16 round white pills recognized as clonazepam – a sedative utilized for anxiety and seizures, known for its addictive potential.

Allegedly, Culkin admitted to not possessing a prescription for the pills.

The driver of the car, identified as Brett M. Tabisel, a 22-year-old from New York City, also faced charges for speeding, improper lane change, and marijuana possession in connection with the incident, as per police statements.

According to the police report, upon pulling over Tabisel, an officer discovered a stash of marijuana inside a black bag on the car floor.

Culkin had disclosed to the officer about carrying $3,000.

Additionally, the pills were found in a clear plastic bag retrieved from Culkin's front pocket, while six rolled marijuana joints and two partially used cigarettes were located in a silver cigarette case during the search.

Following his release from the Oklahoma County Jail, Culkin opted to remain silent, with his representative, Michelle Bega, also refraining from issuing any statements regarding the matter.

Culkin boasts an extensive filmography, having starred in 19 films, including the popular 1989 production “Uncle Buck” preceding the massive success of “Home Alone.”

His most recent film, “Saved!,” debuted earlier this year, alongside numerous television appearances, such as hosting “Saturday Night Live” in 1991.

Notably, Culkin skyrocketed to fame at the tender age of 9 through his role in “Home Alone,” leading to a string of successful movies and making him the highest-paid child star in history within four years.

However, at 14, he declared his retirement, a decision that strained his relationship with his father significantly.

In an interview on “ Live,” Culkin candidly shared his past experiences with alcohol and marijuana consumption, asserting that despite engaging in these activities, he never encountered any significant issues.

He expressed frustration over the excessive attention and scrutiny his actions attracted, emphasizing that his behaviors were no different from those of any other individual.
