In an unexpected turn of events, actor Macaulay Culkin is facing legal trouble as two misdemeanor drug charges have been lodged against him in Oklahoma County.
The incident unfolded when Culkin was apprehended on Friday afternoon while journeying along I-44 in Oklahoma City.
During the encounter, law enforcement authorities discovered a slightly over half an ounce of marijuana and multiple Xanax pills within the rental vehicle that was being operated by 22-year-old Brett M. Tabisel.
District Attorney Wes Lane has indicated that it is standard procedure to recommend some form of substance abuse treatment for Culkin, who is 24 years old, in light of these allegations.
As of now, an arraignment date has not been scheduled for the case.
The events leading up to Culkin's arrest began when the vehicle he was traveling in was pulled over around 4 PM for speeding and executing an improper lane change on I-44.
Following his detainment, Culkin was processed at the Oklahoma County Jail before being released upon posting a $4,000 bond.
