Actress Mischa Barton, renowned for her portrayal of Marissa Cooper on the popular Fox TV series “The O.C.,” faced a brief period of incarceration after being apprehended by Los Angeles law enforcement officials on Thursday.
The charges against her included driving under the influence, possession of marijuana, and operating a vehicle without a valid license.
The arrest transpired in West Hollywood at approximately 3 a.m. when Barton’s car was spotted straddling two lanes of traffic, failing to signal during a turn.
Following her detainment, it was ascertained that Barton lacked a driver’s license and was driving while intoxicated with alcohol, as stated in the official police report.
Furthermore, Sergeant John Hocking revealed suspicions of Barton carrying marijuana and an undisclosed controlled substance.
Subsequently, Barton was confined in jail until she posted bail amounting to $10,000, enduring about seven hours in custody before regaining freedom, as confirmed by the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department.
