Dolly Parton recently opened up about the longstanding rumors surrounding her supposed romantic involvement with former co-star Burt Reynolds.
The iconic actor, who sadly passed away last September at the age of 82, maintained a playful and flirtatious dynamic with the voluptuous star, even off-camera.
Reynolds once expressed his admiration for working alongside Parton, mentioning that their collaboration was so enduring that he found himself deeply observing her features.
However, Parton clarified that any perceived romance between them was strictly confined to their on-screen performances.
She likened their relationship to that of siblings, emphasizing the transparency and honesty that characterized their interactions.
Just like her connection with Kenny Rogers, Parton stressed the absence of secrets or deception in her bond with Reynolds.
In a recent interview with the Daily Mirror, the 72-year-old songstress candidly addressed the speculations regarding a romantic entanglement with Reynolds.
She humorously confessed, “I couldn't wait to jump into bed with Burt,” before playfully adding, “in the movie, not in real life.”
Their on-screen collaboration occurred in the 1982 movie musical *The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas*, where Parton portrayed the role of Mona Stangley, the madam of a brothel, while Reynolds played the sheriff entangled in a forbidden affair with her character.
Despite Reynolds' passing, Parton reminisced about their enduring friendship and the challenges he faced in his final years.
She fondly recalled their camaraderie and shared, “Burt and I were like two peas in a pod, and his passing deeply saddened me.
We shared many similarities, but his prolonged illness was a heavy burden, and I hope he has found peace now.”
