The Twilight saga revolved around the romantic entanglements of Bella Swan, portrayed by Kristen Stewart, and her vampire lover, Edward Cullen, played by her then real-life boyfriend Robert Pattinson.
Amidst this love story, another character added complexity to the narrative – Jacob Black, embodied by Taylor Lautner, who was known as the charming werewolf in the town of Forks.
Despite years passing since the release of four books and five movies, fans remain divided into two factions: Team Edward and Team Jacob.
However, behind the scenes, Stewart did not share the same enthusiasm for her werewolf co-star, particularly when it involved on-screen kisses.
Stewart disclosed to Parade that one of the most daunting scenes for her was the moment she had to kiss Jacob for the first time.
She explained, “Bella is so fixated on Edward that no one else exists for her.
Approaching that scene was a peculiar experience.
Kissing Taylor Lautner felt like stepping into a completely different world.
I was incredibly anxious.”
While Bella shared numerous intimate moments with Edward throughout the series due to their characters' deep connection, the third installment, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, finally showcased the anticipated kiss between Bella and Jacob.
Despite feeling uneasy about kissing her friend, Stewart acknowledged that the deviation from the norm made the experience enjoyable.
In 2010, during a press conference, Stewart shared, “Taylor and I have a blast with these scenes because they are rare and unconventional.
Rob and I often take a serious approach due to the abundance of such scenes in our storyline.”
