Hugh Grant Makes Hilarious Remark about 1995 s** Worker Scandal on The View

In a recent appearance on the US talk show The View, actor made a rare joke about his infamous 1995 s** scandal.

Grant was arrested in Los Angeles for engaging in “lewd conduct” with a s** worker named Divine Brown while he was in a relationship with actor/model Liz Hurley.

During the show, host Sunny Hostin asked the 62-year-old actor about his campaigns against the British tabloid press.

Grant responded with a humorous remark, saying, “Everyone thinks, ‘Oh, well he's just bitter because he got arrested with a hooker in 1995,'” which triggered laughter from both the hosts and the studio audience.

Co-host chimed in, saying, “But you know what, really, who hasn't?”

Grant then clarified that his disdain for the tabloids had nothing to do with his arrest being exposed but rather with the fact that the police leaked the information.

He criticized the non-tax-paying newspaper owners who invade people's privacy for sensational articles, mentioning that they are essentially above the law.

Grant believes that politicians in his country are chosen by the press because they fear challenging them.

This is the focal point of his campaign against tabloid intrusion.

Grant's arrest occurred just one year after his breakout role in Four Weddings and a Funeral.

Since then, he has rarely addressed the incident, referring to it as a moment of “insanity.”

In a statement issued at the time, Grant expressed remorse for hurting his loved ones and embarrassing his colleagues.

The now-defunct News of the World allegedly paid Brown $100,000 for her story, which included her claim that Grant had told her, “I always wanted to sleep with a Black woman.

That's my fantasy.”

Hurley, who remained silent for two months following Grant's arrest, later revealed that she felt devastated upon discovering that he had engaged in s**ual activities with a s** worker.

Grant was fined $1,000 and required to attend an AIDS education program as a result of his actions.

Recently, the actor faced criticism for his awkward red-carpet interview with Ashley Graham at the Oscars.

However, Graham has since addressed the incident, acknowledging that it was uncomfortable for both of them.
