Madonna, the iconic singer, has recently opened up about her regrets.
In a YouTube video where she answered 50 questions from fans about her new album, Finally Enough Love, as well as her life and career, Madonna didn't hold back when discussing a decision she now considers a mistake.
When asked about a choice she wishes she hadn't made, Madonna responded without hesitation, “Getting married.
Both times.”
The renowned artist has been down the aisle twice.
Firstly, she tied the knot with Academy Award-winning actor Sean Penn in 1985, and their union lasted until 1989.
More than ten years later, Madonna married director Guy Ritchie in 2000.
However, after nearly eight years of marriage, the couple, who have two sons together, Rocco (22) and David (16), called it quits in 2008.
Despite her regrets regarding her marriages, Madonna does not regret having children.
The singer, who is also a mother to Lourdes (25), Mercy (16), and twins Stella and Estere (9), considers her “six amazing children” to be her greatest achievement in life.
Following her split from Guy Ritchie, the film director candidly discussed their time together, describing it as akin to a “soap opera.”
In a 2011 interview with Details magazine, he stated, “It's definitely not something I regret.
The experience was ultimately very positive.
I love the kids that came out of it.
But you move on, don't you?
You're right, I stepped into a soap opera, and I lived in it for quite a long period of my life.”
While Madonna rarely speaks about her present relationship with Guy Ritchie, her rapport with Sean Penn seems to be amicable.
At his annual Golden Globes eve Help Haiti Home gala, which supports the J/P Haitian Relief Organization, Madonna took the opportunity to express her love for her ex-husband.
