Blake Lively Suffers Hand Injury While Filming Fight Scene with Jude Law

During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, shared that she injured her hand while shooting a fight scene with co-star Jude Law for their upcoming movie, The Rhythm Section.

Lively, 32, explained that instead of aiming for Law's face, she accidentally punched his elbow, resulting in a busted hand.

She humorously described her hand as turning into party confetti upon impact.

Lively even showed host Jimmy Fallon her injured hand, pointing out the separated ligament and dislocated bones.

Lively expressed her initial excitement about performing action sequences when discussing the film with director Reed Morano.

She recalled Morano's desire to make the audience feel the character's actions, which led to her agreeing to perform the stunts herself.

Unfortunately, the accident with Law's elbow was an unexpected consequence.

The actress underwent two surgeries to repair her hand.

However, she found a silver lining in the situation.

Lively mentioned that she had fun using “dad jokes” during her hospital stay, jokingly telling the doctor that she got in a fight and adding, “You should see the other guy.”

Despite the doctor not catching onto the joke, Lively emphasized that she gave her right hand for the film, a phrase people commonly use figuratively.

Lively's hand injury required physical therapy, where she encountered her handsome and charming Italian hand therapist, Pierre Luigi.

She likened him to a combination of Zac Efron, Fabio, and a Ken doll.

Lively fondly described Luigi's love for espresso and his ability to do a standing back tuck effortlessly.

She also shared a funny incident involving her husband, .

During a session with Luigi, the therapist unintentionally used the word “inspiration” instead of “respiration,” causing a moment of confusion.

Lively hoped Reynolds would wake up and interrupt the conversation, but he ended up being surprised by the awkward exchange.

Aside from discussing her injury, Lively also touched on her growing family.

She revealed that she recently had a third child, a girl, since her last appearance on the show.

Lively mentioned that her oldest daughter is excited about the new baby, while her middle child needs a little more time to adjust.

To kick off the show, Lively and Fallon played a game called “Box of Lies,” where they described strange objects to each other.

If one person lied about their object, the other would earn points.

It was a lighthearted segment that showcased their playful dynamic.

Overall, Lively's interview provided insight into her experience filming The Rhythm Section, her injury, and her personal life.

Despite the setback, it's clear that Lively maintained her sense of humor and positive attitude throughout the ordeal.

The Rhythm Section is set to hit theaters this Friday.
