Rumors surrounding famous figures often circulate, but the revelation of a connection between Marlon Brando and Jackie Kennedy is still surprising.
In 1964, Jackie, the former First Lady, had been widowed for a year following the assassination of her husband, President John F. Kennedy.
Meanwhile, Brando, a renowned actor celebrated for his roles in films such as A Streetcar Named Desire, Guys and Dolls, and On the Waterfront, was married to his third wife, Tarita Teriipaia.
Given their status as public figures, it is not unlikely that Jackie and Brando crossed paths.
However, according to C. David Heymann's 2009 book Bobby and Jackie: A Love Story, their connection went beyond mere acquaintanceship.
Heymann's book, which primarily focuses on the rumored affair between Jackie and Robert F. Kennedy, claims that Brando and Jackie were involved in a brief relationship.
Heymann asserts that Brando intended to recount the story in his 1994 memoir Songs My Mother Taught Me but was prevented from doing so by an editor friend of Jackie's.
The book reveals that Heymann obtained Brando's written account of his s**ual relationship with Jackie.
According to Heymann's book, Brando stated that Jackie made advances towards him and invited him to spend the night while they were together.
The book describes a three-hour meal during which Jackie and Brando danced, drank, and engaged in suggestive behavior.
Brando expressed his surprise at Jackie's overt sensuality, stating that he had initially perceived her as more voyeuristic than active in her desires.
However, when Brando did not initiate any advances, Jackie took matters into her own hands and asked him if he would like to spend the night with her.
The alleged affair between Brando and Jackie extended beyond a single encounter.
The book claims that they met again at an apartment in New York City, which belonged to one of Brando's friends.
Brando is quoted as saying that Jackie performed s**ually with skill, despite his uncertainty about her intentions.
He also mentioned her boyish hips and muscular frame.
Heymann's book suggests that the affair did not continue after these two instances.
Once their relationship was consummated twice, Jackie showed no further interest in pursuing Brando.
It is important to note that Heymann's book primarily focuses on the affair between Jackie and Robert F. Kennedy, which allegedly began six months after John F. Kennedy's death.
Robert had been married to Ethel Kennedy since 1950, and their relationship lasted until his assassination in 1968.
According to the book, the affair spanned four years, and it includes evidence shared by sources close to the pair during their lifetimes.
While the claims made in Heymann's book have been denied by sources close to the Kennedys, it is evident that both Brando and Jackie led eventful romantic lives.
Following her marriage to JFK and the alleged affairs with Brando and RFK, Jackie married Aristotle Onassis in 1968 and remained with him until his death in 1975.
Jackie herself passed away nearly two decades later in 1994 at the age of 64.
Brando, on the other hand, divorced Tarita Teriipaia in 1972 and had numerous relationships throughout his life, fathering 11 children.
In addition to his alleged affair with Jackie, Brando was also rumored to have had relationships with other men, including comedian Richard Pryor.
This revelation came to light through an interview with Brando's friend Quincy Jones, which was later confirmed by Pryor's widow.
However, the claim has been denied by Pryor's daughter and one of Brando's sons.
Brando himself passed away in 2004 at the age of 80.
