Actor David Carradine, known for his role in the 1970s television drama “Kung Fu,” was found dead in a hotel room in Bangkok.
Thai police suspect that his death was not a suicide but rather an accident caused by risky s**ual activities.
The 72-year-old actor was discovered by a chambermaid at the Park Nai Lert Hotel, n^ked and deceased, with a cord wrapped around his neck and genitals.
The police revealed that the two ropes were tied together, but it remains unclear whether Carradine took his own life or if he died from suffocation or heart failure.
Porntip Rojanasunan, the director of the Central Institute of Forensic Science, suggested that Carradine may have died from auto-erotic asphyxiation, a practice in which individuals restrict their air supply to enhance s**ual pleasure.
The actor had been in Thailand since May 29 to film his latest project, “Stretch.”
Although the autopsy has been completed, the Thai police have decided to withhold the results until the following week.
Police Colonel Somprasong Yenthuam confirmed that there was no evidence of another person present in the room during Carradine’s death.
Recently surfaced court documents from the actor’s recent divorce, which were published by The Smoking Gun, indicate that Carradine may have had a history of “deviant s**ual behavior which was potentially deadly,” according to his ex-wife Marina Anderson.
