Simon Cowell, the renowned X Factor judge, has candidly discussed the circumstances surrounding his romantic involvement with Lauren Silverman, who later gave birth to their son Eric.
At the time, Lauren, 38, was married to Cowell’s close friend, Andrew Silverman, a property developer.
It is believed that Lauren and Cowell began their affair while she was still married to Silverman.
The news of Simon and Lauren’s relationship became public after she became pregnant in July 2013.
In an interview with the Mail on Sunday Event magazine, Cowell expressed his remorse, stating, “I’m not proud of the circumstances; I can’t hold my head up about it.”
Cowell admitted that the pregnancy was unplanned and unexpected.
He learned about it when he received an urgent call from Lauren during a meeting.
He attended the first scan with her and recounted feeling an overwhelming sense of protectiveness towards both Lauren and their unborn child, stating, “I just absolutely wanted him.

Their son, Eric, named after Cowell’s late father, was born on Valentine’s Day last year.
Despite his estimated fortune of £355 million, Cowell confessed that he does not want to simply pass down his wealth to Eric.
He finds the idea of generational wealth transfer repulsive, emphasizing that no one ever gave him a penny and his drive for success stemmed from having nothing to lose.
