Johnny Depp, the renowned Hollywood actor, made a bold appearance at the Cannes Film Festival, sparking discussions among fans about his deteriorating teeth.
Depp, who has been absent from the big screen for three years, is currently working on his upcoming film ‘Jeanne Du Barry,' where he portrays the role of King Louis XV, according to a report by ‘Mirror.co.uk.'
Fans were taken aback by the sight of Depp's teeth, with some claiming that they appeared to be decaying.
One fan even drew a comparison to Depp's iconic character, Captain Jack Sparrow from ‘Pirates of the Caribbean,' stating that he seemed to be transforming into the fictional pirate in real life.
One online commenter exclaimed, “Johnny Depp's teeth are literally ROTTING.”
Interestingly, it has now come to light that nearly thirty years ago, Depp expressed his pride in his dental condition.
In 1995, he openly admitted, “I've got loads of cavities.
I had a root canal eight years ago, which remains unfinished.
It's like a rotten little stub.”
During an interview with Premiere Magazine, Depp confidently declared his fondness for his teeth, stating, “It's like when the Indians would make something beaded, they would always put imperfections on it.
I'm proud of these.”
The Hollywood heartthrob, aged 31 at the time, also expressed his annoyance towards those with “perfect teeth,” stating that their flawless smiles irked him.
He humorously remarked, “I'd rather swallow a tick than have that!”
This revelation comes just one day after the 59-year-old actor addressed allegations of being “boycotted” in Hollywood.
Previously, Depp claimed to have experienced a “boycott” within the industry during a 2021 interview, which followed his libel court case against Amber Heard.
However, he now asserts that he no longer feels “boycotted.”
When asked about his sentiments on being “boycotted” by Hollywood, Depp acknowledged having felt that way in the past but clarified that it is no longer the case.
He elaborated, saying, “Do I feel a boycott now?
No, not at all.
I don't feel boycotted by Hollywood because I don't think about Hollywood.”
Depp further expressed his detachment from the industry, stating that he no longer has a strong need for it.
He commented on the current climate, describing it as “strange,” with everyone desiring to be themselves but ultimately conforming to societal expectations.
