Charlize Theron Embraces Aging and Denies Plastic Surgery Rumors

At 48 years old, is proud of her changing appearance, despite the unrealistic beauty standards prevalent in Hollywood and the rumors surrounding her alleged plastic surgery.

In an interview with Allure, the Oscar-winning actor addressed the speculation about her face, stating, “People think I had a facelift.

They're like, ‘What did she do to her face?'

I'm like, ‘Bitch, I'm just aging!

It doesn't mean I got bad plastic surgery.

This is just what happens.'”

Theron, who spoke to the magazine in celebration of her long-standing collaboration with Dior's J'Adore perfume, also opened up about the challenges faced by women over 40 in the entertainment industry.

She expressed her disdain for the notion that men age like fine wines while women are compared to cut flowers.

Theron added, “I despise that concept and I want to fight against it, but I also think women want to age in a way that feels right to them.

I think we need to be a little bit more empathetic to how we all go through our journey.”

The actress further discussed the toll that certain roles have taken on her physical well-being.

In the past, she has gained weight or performed her own stunts for specific characters.

However, Theron revealed that she will never undergo extreme transformations again due to the difficulties of losing the weight afterwards.

For her role as convicted serial killer Aileen Wuornos in the film “Monster,” she gained weight and then lost 30 pounds almost overnight.

She attempted a similar transformation at 43 for her role as a postpartum mother in “Tully,” but struggled to shed the weight.

Theron recounted, “I called my doctor and I said, ‘I think I'm dying because I cannot lose this weight.'

And he was like, ‘You're over 40.

Calm down.

Your metabolism is not what it was.'

Nobody wants to hear that.”

Despite being known for performing her own stunts in action films like “Mad Max: Fury Road” and “Atomic Blonde,” Theron admitted that she now takes longer to recover from injuries compared to when she was younger.

She expressed her disappointment, saying, “The thing that really bums me out is that I make action movies now and if I hurt myself, I take way longer to heal than I did in my 20s.

More than my face, I wish I had my 25-year-old body that I can just throw against the wall and not even hurt tomorrow.

Now, if I don't work out for three days and I go back to the gym, I can't walk.

I can't sit down on the toilet.

It's all those very real moments.”

continues to challenge societal expectations and embrace the natural process of aging, proving that beauty comes in many forms and ages.
