Woody Allen Asserts Innocence and Addresses Dylan Farrow’s Allegations in Exclusive TV Interview

In a long-awaited interview on CBS Sunday Morning, acclaimed filmmaker Woody Allen once again declared his innocence regarding the historic s**ual abuse allegations made by his adopted daughter, Dylan Farrow.

Speaking candidly about the matter, Allen acknowledged that he believes his daughter genuinely believes her claims.

“She was a good kid.

I do not believe that she's making it up.

I don't believe she's lying.

I believe she believes that,” stated Allen during the interview, which was recorded in July 2020 but only aired recently.

Despite the serious accusations, Allen has never been charged with any crimes and vehemently denies molesting Dylan Farrow.

The alleged abuse is said to have occurred in 1992 when Farrow was just seven years old.

Expressing his frustration, Allen remarked, “It's so preposterous, and yet the smear has remained.

And they still prefer to cling to if not the notion that I molested Dylan, the possibility that I molested her.

Nothing that I ever did with Dylan in my life could be misconstrued as that.”

While Allen expressed a desire to speak with Farrow, he revealed that they have not had contact for many years.

In addition to addressing the abuse allegations, the interview touched upon Allen's relationship with Soon-Yi Previn, another of his adopted daughters who was married to his ex-wife, Mia Farrow, at the time of their affair.

Allen emphasized that their intention was never to hurt anyone's feelings but rather to eventually make their relationship known.

He explained, “There was never a moment that it wasn't the most natural thing in the world… it didn't give me pause because the relationship with Soon-Yi was very gradual.

It wasn't like I went out with her one night and kissed her.”

With a significant age gap of 35 years between Allen and Previn, their marriage has attracted attention and criticism.

Several of Allen's films, such as Whatever Works, Manhattan, and Husbands and Wives, depict relationships between older men and younger women.

Reflecting on this, Allen commented, “I would say of the many women I've dated in my life, many women, they were all what the appropriate police would call appropriate – age-appropriate.

Diane Keaton, Mia Farrow, Louise Lasser, my first wife; until Soon-Yi, which is unusual for me.”

The interview also mentioned the recent release of the HBO documentary Allen v Farrow, which includes video footage of Dylan Farrow accusing Allen when she was just seven years old.

The footage, shot by her adoptive mother during a custody battle in 1993, further intensified public interest in the case.
