Jerry Lee Lewis' ex-wife, Myra Williams, recently opened up about her tumultuous marriage to the rock and roll legend.

In an interview following Lewis' death at the age of 87, Williams revealed that her father had chased Lewis with a gun when he discovered the couple had eloped when she was just 13 years old.

Recalling the early years of their marriage, Williams said, “I did all the work and made all the decisions and did all the running and taking care of business and that kind of stuff.”

She even shared a humorous anecdote about going to the bank with a sack of money and being followed by a policeman.

Their marriage faced additional challenges as Lewis battled drug addiction, which led to adultery and abuse, ultimately leading to their divorce in 1970.

Despite the difficulties, Williams found strength in her experiences, stating, “In going through it, I've found my strength.

And there's almost nothing that can knock me off my block at this point.”
