Oprah Winfrey, the renowned talk show host, has shared the name she had chosen for the premature baby boy she lost when she was only 14 years old.
During a speaking engagement at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Australia, Winfrey candidly discussed her painful past.
In an interview with a reporter prior to her visit, the reporter suggested that Winfrey should give her late son a name.
Winfrey took this suggestion to heart and announced to the audience of 15,000 that she had named her son Canaan, without specifying the exact spelling.
She explained her choice by stating, “I did have a son.

Winfrey also admitted that she was concerned about the potential damage the revelation could cause to her career.
She feared the judgment and condemnation she might face from society.
“I imagined that every person on the street was going to point their finger at me and scream, ‘Pregnant at 14, you wicked girl … expelled!'”
she wrote in the same magazine issue.
However, once the truth emerged, Winfrey experienced a sense of liberation.
She realized that
