In a recent interview with RadarOnline, Paul LeBlanc, the estranged father of actor Matt LeBlanc, opened up about their strained relationship and shared some surprising details about his son's supposed feelings for his Friends co-stars.
According to Paul, he hasn't spoken to Matt in three years, and unless there are extenuating circumstances, he doesn't foresee their relationship improving.
The cause of the rift between father and son seems to be related to money, but Paul also accuses Matt, who is now 48 years old, of being negatively influenced by fame.
He expresses disappointment in his son, stating that he would rather see him poor but compassionate.
Despite being proud of Matt's achievements, Paul feels hurt by the person his son has become as he believes that the more money Matt makes, the more ruthless he becomes.
Paul takes another swipe at Matt, describing him as “wild and reckless.”
He mentions that he intends to move on with his life without any expectation of seeing or speaking to Matt again.
During the interview, Paul also shared insights into Matt's alleged relationships with his Friends co-stars.
According to Paul, Matt had a close bond with Jennifer Aniston and even had a romantic relationship with her while she was still married to Brad Pitt.
However, representatives for both Aniston and LeBlanc have strongly denied this claim.
Paul also mentioned that Matt always liked Lisa Kudrow but wasn't as fond of his male co-stars.
He described David Schwimmer as “kind of dry” and too serious, while he referred to Matthew Perry, his son's best friend on the show, as an “a–hole.”
These revelations from Paul contradict the image painted by Matt himself in a previous interview with The Telegraph.
Matt spoke highly of his co-stars, emphasizing their strong emotional support for one another.
He mentioned that although they haven't been in the same room together since the show's finale, he still maintains individual relationships with each of them.
Matt's current TV show, Episodes, is a comedic melodrama loosely based on his life.
Interestingly, his character's father in the show is portrayed as money-hungry and manipulative, mirroring the strained relationship between Matt and his real father.
In a separate interview with The Times Magazine, Matt explained that he no longer speaks to his father because of his habit of selling stories to tabloids.
Despite the difficulties, Matt acknowledges that there are valuable lessons to be learned from unpleasant people.
It is clear that there are differing perspectives on Matt LeBlanc's personal life and relationships, but one thing remains certain: the bond between the Friends cast members continues to be a topic of fascination for fans around the world.
