Jason Statham and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley have been a power couple for so long that it’s difficult to imagine a time when they were not together.
Since 2010, the pair has consistently displayed their relationship in the public eye, defying societal expectations with their 20-year age gap.
So how did they meet?
Sources reveal that Statham and Huntington-Whiteley first crossed paths and fell in love on the set of Transformers in 2010.
Initially keeping their romance low-key, the duo made their relationship public at that year’s Coachella Festival in California.
After half a year of dating, the model and actor decided to move in together, further amplifying their presence as a couple.
Despite the attention their love garnered due to the significant age difference, Statham and Huntington-Whiteley were unbothered and continued to flaunt their affection for one another.
Over the following years, the beloved couple consistently radiated their love while attending red carpets, vacations, and star-studded events.
Engaged for three years and counting
In April 2015, Huntington-Whiteley shared her thoughts on her future with Statham in an interview with SELF magazine.
While she admitted her love for the Hobbs & Shaw actor, the supermodel expressed that she was in no rush to become his wife.
She emphasized the importance of being in a happy relationship rather than succumbing to societal pressures.
She also hinted at the possibility of children in the near future.
In January 2016, the engagement rumors became reality when paparazzi spotted Huntington-Whiteley wearing a dazzling diamond ring while cruising around Los Angeles.
A few days later, the couple confirmed their engagement at the 2016 Golden Globe Awards, where Huntington-Whiteley showcased her stunning $350,000 ring on the red carpet.
Their blissful journey continued in February 2017 when the couple announced on Instagram that they were expecting their first child together.
Huntington-Whiteley shared a beachside snapshot, proudly displaying her baby bump.
Their son, Jack Oscar, was born on July 24, 2017, adding another chapter to their beautiful love story.
No rush for marriage
While their engagement has lasted over three years, Statham and Huntington-Whiteley are content with the life they have built together.
Although they intend to tie the knot at some point, the couple is in no hurry to walk down the aisle.
In a 2018 interview with Extra, Huntington-Whiteley shared, “We’ve been so focused on our work for so long, and Jack came along.
We definitely talk about it, we’re looking forward to that time, but it’s not a huge priority for us.
We’re so happy.”
She added that involving their son in the wedding would be a fun experience, suggesting they might wait until he is a bit older.
Whether they exchange vows tomorrow or years from now, Statham and Huntington-Whiteley will marry when the time feels right.
Until then, they will continue to cherish their happily engaged status.
