Simon Cowell Regrets Affair with Best Friend’s Wife

In a candid interview with the Mail on Sunday’s Event magazine, X Factor mogul Simon Cowell has openly discussed his affair with his best friend’s wife and admits that he feels ashamed of his actions.

Cowell, now 56 years old, revealed that his relationship with his current partner Lauren began in 2009, when she was still married to millionaire property developer Andrew Silverman.

The affair only became public knowledge in July 2013, when news broke of Lauren’s pregnancy.

Recalling the moment he found out about the pregnancy, Cowell shared that it was unexpected and unplanned.

He was informed by an assistant during a meeting that his girlfriend urgently needed to speak to him.

He remembers attending the first scan with Lauren and feeling a sudden protective instinct towards both her and their unborn child.

He affectionately referred to his son as “Tad” because he resembled a tadpole.

The interview also shed light on how fatherhood has transformed Cowell, who admits that he is not a conventional dad.

While he doesn’t change diapers or prepare bottles, he adores his 21-month-old son Eric and finds joy in their interactions.

Cowell proudly states that he has taught Eric to share, say please and thank you, and that his son even offers him things he has.

Discussing the future of his flagship show, The X Factor, Cowell acknowledges the declining ratings and criticism it has faced.

He assures fans that ITV and advertisers still support the program but vows not to repeat the mistakes made during the current series, such as allowing screaming audiences to drown out the performances and judges’ comments.

Cowell also reveals that the death of his mother Julie, who passed away in July at the age of 89, has put setbacks into perspective.

She was a driving force in his career and someone he could always rely on for advice.

Cowell admits that he was not prepared for her loss and emphasizes how it has changed him.

He reflects on the fact that his 50s have been marked by both becoming a father and losing his mother, stating that he is still going through the grieving process.

Despite his estimated fortune of over £355 million, Cowell expresses his intention to donate his wealth to charitable causes rather than pass it down to his son.

He finds the idea of generational wealth transfer distasteful, as no one gave him any money when he was starting out, and he believes that having nothing to lose motivated him to work hard.

In conclusion, Simon Cowell’s interview provides an intimate glimpse into his personal life, showcasing his regrets, transformation as a father, reflections on his career, and his plans for the future.
