Jennifer Garner Reveals the Truth About Ben Affleck’s Affair with Nanny: “Conversations with Children Were Necessary”

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck, once considered one of Hollywood's most enchanting couples, have called it quits.

While there were various reasons behind their decision, rumors circled that Affleck's extramarital affair with their nanny played a role in their separation.

In 2016, Garner confirmed these allegations during a candid interview with a magazine.

For those unfamiliar with their love story, Garner and Affleck first met on the set of Pearl Harbour.

Despite both being in other relationships at the time, their connection developed, leading them to officially start dating in October 2004.

They got engaged in 2005 and welcomed their first child later that same year.

Their marriage lasted for over a decade before coming to an end.

During a conversation with Vanity Fair, Garner openly acknowledged Affleck's affair with the nanny, stating, “Let me make one thing clear.

We had already been separated for months before I even found out about the nanny.

She was not a factor in our decision to divorce.”

Garner also discussed how she coped with the situation, saying, “Was it a poor choice?

Absolutely.

Having [a nanny] disappear from your children's lives is not ideal.

I have had to explain the concept of scandal to my kids.”

In addition, Garner expressed her belief that there is no need to attack Affleck for his actions.

She shared, “People experience pain—they make regrettable decisions, they feel shame, and shame equals pain.

No one should hate him on my behalf.

I don't hate him.

And trust me, I was fully aware of everything that happened during our marriage.

I am taking care of myself.”
