In a shocking turn of events, talk show host Wendy Williams has revealed that she hired a private investigator to spy on her then-husband, Kevin Hunter.
Williams filed for divorce in April 2019 after Hunter fathered a child with another woman.
However, she admitted to knowing about his infidelity for some time and carefully planning her exit strategy from the marriage.
Williams spoke candidly about her decision to hire a private investigator during an interview with E!
News’ Daily Pop.
She explained that she wanted to gather evidence before making any public announcements.
“There were secrets that I was keeping,” Williams said.
“It wasn’t about being not vulnerable.
It was about waiting for the right time because I was methodically planning to get out of my marriage.”
The private investigator followed Hunter and his mistress, Sharina Hudson, on vacation and even to Hudson’s gynecologist appointments.
Through their investigation, it was discovered that Hudson was pregnant with Hunter’s child.
Although this was not the first time Hudson had become pregnant, it was the first baby she was having with Hunter.
Williams kept silent about the situation for a long time, primarily because of her and Hunter’s son, Kevin Jr. She wanted to protect him from the media frenzy surrounding their family.
“I could not talk to you all about everything going on until I was able to sit down and talk with my son,” Williams explained.
“And my ex-husband was acting out of order.
So, you all didn’t know that, and I wasn’t going to talk about that stuff.
I was going to save it for the movie.”
Indeed, Williams revealed that her story will be told in an upcoming Lifetime biopic titled Wendy Williams: The Movie.
She had previously rejected offers from the network but felt that the timing was right now.
“Because Lifetime came with the proposal that I wanted,” Williams said.
“Things just never worked out.
But that was when I was still married.
I’m in a different period in my life.
Lifetime called.
And I answered.”
In a recent episode of her daytime show, Williams publicly named Sharina Hudson for the first time and acknowledged the existence of Hunter’s child with her.
She also took the opportunity to address Hunter directly, referring to him by his legal name, Kelvin.
Williams made it clear that she is ready to share her truth with the world.
Williams has been open about the infidelity throughout her marriage to Hunter, revealing that she had known about his serial cheating since early on.
She first discovered his unfaithfulness while pregnant with their son, Kevin Jr.
Despite the betrayal, Williams does not regret the years she spent with Hunter.
She believes that everything she went through has led her to where she is now.
As Williams moves forward with her life, she expressed her desire for her next partner to be someone outside of the spotlight.
She no longer wants to be involved with someone famous or in the entertainment industry.
However, she does want someone who appreciates her sense of humor and supports her career.
Williams also shared her aspirations to produce and potentially direct projects in the future.
The journey to healing and self-discovery continues for Wendy Williams as she navigates life after her tumultuous marriage.
Her strength and resilience serve as an inspiration to many, proving that one can overcome even the most challenging circumstances.
