Jackie Chan's Daughter Spotted Queuing for Free Food in Canada
Etta Ng Chok-lam, the daughter of Hong Kong icon Jackie Chan and former beauty queen Elaine Ng, was recently seen queuing for free food in Toronto, Canada.
This sighting has once again brought attention to Ng's difficult financial situation, while her father continues to thrive in his career.
Despite being the daughter of one of Hong Kong's wealthiest film stars, Ng has not had an easy life.
Born on November 19, 1999, she is the result of an extramarital affair between Chan and Elaine Ng, who was 19 years younger than him at the time.
When the scandal broke, Chan publicly acknowledged the affair and the pregnancy, but then cut off contact with Ng and her mother.
Ng grew up without knowing her father and did not take his last name.
Despite Chan's immense wealth, he has reportedly never offered any assistance to Ng or her mother.
In 2015, Ng stated that she harbored no anger towards her father and had no desire to see him.
In 2017, Ng came out as a lesbian and later married Canadian social media influencer Andi Autumn.
The couple claimed to be homeless and sleeping under a bridge due to homophobic parents in a now-deleted YouTube video.
They sought help from various sources, including the police, hospitals, and LGBTQ+ community shelters, but received little support.
Ng's financial struggles have been evident, as she and Autumn were previously evicted from a hostel in Hong Kong for failing to pay rent.
Ng has since moved back to Canada and is currently working at a restaurant in Chinatown.
However, she continues to face difficulties making ends meet.
Elaine Ng has also faced her own share of problems, including allegations of child abuse by Ng.
These claims were later revealed to be a result of Ng seeking help for her mother's compulsive smoking and drinking habits.
While Jackie Chan's wealth is estimated at $400 million, he has made it clear that he does not plan to pass on his fortune to his children.
Instead, he intends to donate his wealth to charity.
Ng's half-brother, Jaycee Chan, has also not received any financial support from their father.
Social media users have expressed disappointment in the lack of support from Ng's parents.
Despite the difficult circumstances, Ng remains resilient and determined to make her own way in life.
She continues to face challenges but remains hopeful for the future.
