Actress Taryn Manning is addressing the strange video she uploaded on social media, where she confessed to having a relationship with a married man who supposedly faced a restraining order from his wife.
In an Instagram post on Monday, the “Orange Is the New Black” star shared her reflections on the situation.
She admitted that she made a mistake by handling the matter publicly, instead of dealing with it privately with the support of her close friends and family.
Manning, 44, explained that she experienced a lot of guilt after making her romantic situation public.
Initially, she considered dismissing the claims as lies, but she ultimately decided to come clean with her fans.
According to her, she started a relationship with a man who was married and promised to leave his wife.
However, she eventually discovered that this wasn’t going to happen.
Describing herself as an ethical and kind person, Manning admitted that she was wrong in pursuing a relationship with a married man.
Nevertheless, she acknowledged that love can make people do crazy things.
While apologizing for exposing the situation on social media, Manning refused to apologize for how she loves.
She expressed hope in finding someone who would cherish her in the same way she would, emphasizing her desire for a healthy love that allows her to be true to herself.
The actress admitted that this experience served as a significant learning lesson for her.
She requested privacy to heal and mend her heart.
Manning’s message comes after she shared an Instagram video detailing her alleged affair with the married man, even mentioning explicit activities.
In the video, she also spoke about going to Newport Beach with him to buy a boat because she was deeply in love.
Additionally, Manning mentioned the wife of the man she was involved with.
She expressed dislike towards the wife for allegedly calling her a “lunatic” instead of confronting both parties involved.
The wife reportedly threatened to obtain a restraining order against Manning, who retaliated by threatening to have her put in jail.
Despite the controversy, Manning maintained that she would no longer lie about the affair.
She made it clear that she was not afraid of the wife and warned her not to threaten her, asserting her ability to protect herself.
It is worth noting that Manning was previously engaged to Anne Cline, but their relationship ended three months after the proposal.
