A dramatic incident unfolded on a highway in Malibu when a woman chased down actor Gary Busey after he reportedly collided with her car and fled the scene.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that they are investigating the alleged hit-and-run involving the 79-year-old star of “Buddy Holly Story.”
According to TMZ, the woman, who remains unidentified, was driving along the Pacific Coast Highway when Busey pulled out of a shopping center and struck her rear bumper before speeding off.
As they drove alongside each other, the woman shouted at Busey, demanding his insurance information.
In a wild video obtained by TMZ, the woman can be heard repeatedly yelling, “Sir, you hit my car, I need your information.”
However, Busey continued to drive away without acknowledging the situation.
The woman did not give up and eventually caught up with Busey in a restaurant parking lot.
She confronted him about the incident, pointing out scuff marks on his Volvo and insisting on receiving his insurance information.
Busey, however, refused to comply, claiming he is a private person.
Despite the woman's stern demands, Busey got back into his car and drove away once again, as captured in the TMZ video.
The woman continued to shout after him, expressing her frustration.
The sheriff's office has confirmed that a police report was filed and detectives are currently attempting to make contact with Busey.
As of now, no charges have been filed, but the case may be referred to the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office following the investigation.
This isn't the first time Busey has faced legal issues or been involved in mishaps in Malibu.
Last year, he was charged with s** crimes and harassment at the Monster-Mania convention in New Jersey, but he denied the allegations.
In 2015, Busey struck a woman while backing out of a shopping center on the famous Pacific Coast Highway.
Fortunately, the woman only sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
Busey gained recognition as a character actor, often playing supporting roles, but his breakthrough came when he portrayed Buddy Holly in the 1978 biopic, which earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor.
In 1988, he suffered brain damage following a near-fatal motorcycle accident.
