Jennifer Lee, the widow of comedian Richard Pryor, has addressed her late husband's relationship with actor Marlon Brando, stating that he had no regrets about it.
In an interview with the Daily Beast, Lee, 79, expressed that Pryor would openly discuss the fling if he were alive today.
She even suggested that he would provide all the juicy details.
The news of Pryor's romantic involvement with Brando was first revealed by renowned music producer Quincy Jones last year.
According to Jones, Brando was known for being willing to have relations with anyone.
Jones said in an interview with Vulture in February 2018, “He was the most charming motherf****r you ever met.
He'd f**k anything.
He'd f**k a mailbox.
James Baldwin.
Lee confirmed the story, explaining that their fling took place in the 1970s, a time when drugs were prevalent and s**ual liberation was on the rise.
She told TMZ, “It was the seventies!
Drugs were still good, especially Quaaludes.
If you did enough cocaine, you'd f**k a radiator and send it flowers in the morning.”
Following Jones' interview, one of Pryor's daughters criticized both Jones and Lee for their comments about her father.
Rain Pryor, 49, took to Facebook to deny the claims, calling Jones “losing his mind” and accusing Lee of tarnishing her father's legacy.
However, Lee brushed off Rain's remarks, stating that she did not know Pryor the way she did.
Lee also mentioned that Pryor was always candid about his relationships with men and even a transgender woman.
The legendary comedian would discuss these topics in his stand-up acts.
Lee first married Pryor in 1981 but divorced the following year.
They remarried in 2001 and remained together until Pryor's death in 2005.
The couple initially met in the late 1970s when Pryor was looking for help decorating his new home.
Lee, an aspiring actress at the time, took on the job and quickly fell in love with him.
Pryor had a reputation as a womanizer, marrying seven times to five different women.
Lee recalled him bringing a different woman home every morning.
He married actress Deborah McGuire shortly after meeting Lee, and their relationship ended in violence when Pryor shot at his own car while McGuire attempted to leave.
After a tumultuous period, which included Pryor setting himself on fire, Lee returned to his side.
They went through various ups and downs but never stopped loving each other.
Lee is now focused on creating a biopic about Pryor's life and plans to publish his diaries and journals in the near future.
She aims to provide audiences with a comprehensive understanding of the legendary comedian's journey.
