Why Roger Moore’s Prank on Jane Seymour Made Her Cry During the Making of ‘Live and Let Die’

Jane Seymour, the actress who played the love interest of James Bond in ‘Live and Let Die,' has revealed the prank that left her feeling humiliated and in tears, courtesy of co-star Roger Moore.

After turned down the opportunity to reprise his role as Agent 007 in the 1973 film ‘Live and Let Die,' Roger Moore stepped in to take on the iconic character of James Bond.

At the age of 20, Jane Seymour was cast as his leading lady, and she has since shared her experiences of working alongside Moore, including a moment that deeply affected her.

Seymour disclosed that Moore was an impressive kisser, but it was another incident that left her mortified.

In the film, Seymour portrayed a tarot-card reading psychic medium known as Solitaire.

Her character loses her powers after being seduced by Moore's Bond.

Speaking about filming their bedroom scene, Seymour admitted that it was nerve-racking, embarrassing, and far from s**y.

She even fell asleep during the scene due to the lengthy setup time.

Despite the challenges faced during filming, Seymour regarded Moore as a polite and talented kisser.

However, there was a prank he played on her that crossed the line and brought her to tears.

During an appearance on the talk show ‘Loose Women,' Seymour recounted the incident that left her feeling devastated.

Seymour described Moore as a hilarious person who enjoyed joking around on set.

One day, he decided to play a prank on her when she would sit down with the rest of the cast for lunch.

Knowing that she often asked for things to be passed to her, Moore orchestrated a scenario where everyone would pick up their trays and walk away as soon as she sat down.

Unaware that it was a joke, Seymour felt rejected and believed that nobody wanted to be near her.

She tearfully admitted that she was mortified by the incident, as Moore never clarified that it was meant in jest.

Following that incident, Seymour chose to eat with the crew and assistant directors instead of the cast.

However, decades later, just a few months before Moore's passing, he personally apologized to her.

In his book, he wrote, “I'm not sure she realized it was a joke.”

Seymour shared that she last saw Moore at an event where they had a lengthy conversation, during which they discussed various topics, including the prank.

Moore expressed his regret and offered his apology.

Roger Moore passed away on May 23, 2017, at the age of 89 after battling cancer.

Despite the prank that left her in tears, Seymour has fond memories of her co-star off-set.

She praised Moore for his attentiveness and care, noting that he always ensured her safety and included her in social gatherings during their time in New Orleans and Jamaica.
