Angelina Jolie Calls Out Biased Judge in Brad Pitt Child Custody Case, Advocates for Domestic Violence Training in Courts

Angelina Jolie has accused the judge overseeing her child custody case of being biased and favoring her ex-husband Brad Pitt.

Now, the actress is using her own experience to advocate for legislation that would address corruption within the court system.

In a letter dated September 29th, obtained by The Post, Jolie urged California Governor Gavin Newsom to support “Piqui's Law.”

This law would require judges, mediators, and other court professionals to undergo domestic violence training to better understand the effects of child abuse and trauma.

A source close to Jolie revealed that the actress is pushing for this legislation due to the trauma she experienced under Judge John W. Ouderkirk in Los Angeles.

The judge refused to allow Jolie's children to testify about the domestic violence they had endured at the hands of their father.

“This issue is personal to her, and for valid reasons,” said the source.

“She faced a biased judge who was removed from the case by the appellate court due to his corrupt financial dealings with Brad Pitt's team.

He violated judicial ethics and refused to consider evidence of domestic abuse.”

However, sources close to Brad Pitt have claimed that Jolie is distorting the truth and attempting to damage the reputations of the judge and other professionals involved in the case.

Ouderkirk, a retired private judge who officiated Jolie and Pitt's wedding, ruled in May 2021 that the couple would have equal custody of their children.

Jolie challenged this decision and filed a petition to remove Ouderkirk from the case.

In July 2021, the appellate court disqualified Ouderkirk from the case, citing his failure to disclose business relationships with Pitt's attorneys.

The appellate court also vacated Ouderkirk's custody order.

Pitt's legal team argues that the disqualification was based on a “technical procedure” and had nothing to do with the facts of the custody case.

They claim that Jolie is manipulating the media and disregarding objective facts to further her own interests.

The proposed Piqui's Law, named after a 5-year-old boy who was killed by his father in 2017, aims to prevent abused children from being separated from their non-violent parent.

It would also prevent children from being placed in reunification camps.

Throughout the five-year custody battle, Jolie fought to maintain custody of the children following a 2016 incident that led to the breakdown of the family.

According to an FBI report, Pitt allegedly became physically aggressive towards Jolie during a flight, resulting in injuries to her back and elbow.

Jolie filed for divorce six days after the incident, but the FBI did not pursue charges against Pitt.
