Russell Crowe seems to have a knack for getting into fights whenever he visits England.
This time, the New Zealand-born actor reportedly got into a brawl with fellow Kiwi, Eric Watson, owner of the New Zealand Warriors rugby team, at the upscale Zuma eatery in London's Knightsbridge neighborhood.
The altercation started in the bathroom and spilled out into the bar area.
According to an eyewitness, Crowe was initially amusing with his plate throwing antics, reminiscent of a scene from the movie “My Big Fat Greek Wedding.”
However, it quickly escalated, and Watson seemed to gain the upper hand, with Crowe ending up on the ground.
Despite the commotion, no arrests were made and no charges were filed.
The police were called to the restaurant after receiving reports of a fight between two men in their thirties.
However, by the time they arrived, the situation was already under control.
The authorities confirmed that no crime had been committed, and no further action would be taken.
This is not the first time Crowe has found himself in such a situation in London.
In March, he famously attacked a TV producer after his acceptance speech at an awards show was edited.
This incident added to the negative publicity surrounding Crowe, potentially contributing to his loss in the Oscar race against Denzel Washington.
Despite these altercations, Crowe remains focused on his acting career.
He is set to star in the upcoming film “Cinderella Man,” directed by Ron Howard and written by Akiva Goldsman, who also worked with him on “A Beautiful Mind.”
In the film, Crowe will portray the real-life boxer Jim Braddock.
Perhaps his recent behavior can be attributed to his preparation for this role.
It appears that Crowe's visits to England continue to be eventful, albeit not always in a positive way.
It remains to be seen if he can avoid further altercations
